It just depends on sponsorship support things like that. But the main reason why I do these things, just like over a Christian Talk my Christian podcast, is that people, especially people of faith, living in a country that is unique, would understand that we should be the most joyful, the most consistent, and the most rational people in the nation because our lives are based on truth. So when I to finish this podcast, we’ll go over a little bit of Rush Limbaugh’s The True Story of Thanksgiving, But I wanted us to start with why we as Americans, American Christians, must be thankful because in reality, for those of us of faith, it is God’s will that we would be thankful. Our nation, as we know, was founded by those who were fleeing religious persecution.
Well, God establishes governments, he lifts up kings, he takes down kings. So it makes perfect sense that in the expansion of God’s message in the Gospel that he through persecution and using a tyrannical king and kingdom, would drive would lead his believers to another land for the sharing. Of the Gospel and the. Growth of the church.
But once everyone else came over, then we end up being a nation that decided not to be a theocracy governed by God, but to be a constitutional republic. So here are some reasons why we should all be thankful, Christian or not. Founds based their decision to establish this nation under the premise that there is a God and that rights, the basic rights of life, come from God, not from man. So we should be thankful.
We live in a nation whose founders started from the premise that we have rights that are unalienable. The Declaration of Independence just the beginning of it. Beginning of it. This is why you should be thankful, because you live in an exceptional, the most unique nation on earth, because of our founding, because of our constitution and bill of rights.
So in July fourth, seventeen seventy six, the unanimous declaration of the thirteen United States of America, and the reason why they wanted to break off or they had a right to break off from the king, was in the course of human events it becomes when it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them to one another, and to assume among the powers of the earth a separate and equal station to which the laws of nature and of Nature’s God entitles them. A decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to separate. So we live in a nation where the founder said, listen, king, God’s God’s creation, God’s plan, or or the system. The way things are set up is that when people are being mistreated or under or being suppressed, that there’s a there’s a natural right to separate and to be treated equally.
So the founders said, we hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal, and that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these or life or liberty and the pursuit of happiness. And that to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. Why should be thankful we live in a nation whose founders based our laws and our system off of unalienable rights from God, not from rights from men. So in the pre emal to the Constitution, then Revolutionary War Constitution, Everything’s signed decoration, the Bill of Rights.
Later in seventeen ninety one, we the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, ensure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity. Do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America. Courts will not interpret the people to confer any rights or powers not granted specifically in the Constitution. So we are thankful that we have a constitution that was signed off on closed, and the power was given to the federal government from the states, and the purpose of the govern federal government was to ensure domestic tranquility, common defense, promote general welfare, not a welfare state, and secure the blessings of liberty.
We should be thankful that the founders then said later, you know, let’s put in some more protections for liberty’s sake. First Amendment to this Constitution, Congress shall make no laws respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof or abridging the freedom of speech, preventing the freedom of speech or of the press, or of the right to peaceably assemble and to petition the government for a redress of grievances. So we have founding God through circumstances, through his actions drew people moved people of faith in Jesus Christ to America, and as a development and more people came over. Yes, secularists, some Daists, Bible believe in Christians.
The whole thing. What we ended up with is a unique nation with the Constitution of republic and a very strong bill of rights. That’s what we should be thankful for as Americans. So even though it is there is a lot of problems in our nation here, on November twenty eighth, twenty twenty four, former President Trump will be taking office and there’s going to be significant changes.
So we can be thankful that we’re going to be restoring somewhat back too. There’s some deconstruction will be taking place, back to the intent of our founding fathers and shrinking the government. But my encouragement in my axhertation is we must not ever take our eyes off being thankful to God for all of the good things that we have have because every good and perfect gift comes down from above. So yes, there’s crime, Yes there’s problems.
We have a government that is way out of control because the Marxists have been a doctrinating generation after generation and they put a Manchurian candidate to Joe Biden in, so they’ve been just totally open bordering it. Yes, it’s all trending the wrong way, but we can see already after the election the Mexico and Canada is like, okay, we will stop the invasion. So we can be thankful that God, to his providence, is putting a government because he lifts up kings and takes down kings and Daniel, he’s putting in place a system. It’s our job as people of the nation to vote in people who respect their constitution, will defend the constitution, and and for those of us of faith who people who fear God first, so then they have an accountability even above their roles as politicians.
So we should be thankful for in a nation that has this this structure put in place. If you have if you have family and you spend time with them, obviously be thankful you have a family. There’s no things nothing’s perfect on this side of heaven. So be thankful today.
If you’re listening to this after Thanksgiving, if you shared it with friends and family, be thankful that you have friends and family. If you’re with your spouse no children, be thankful that God brought to you with meat. If it’s not perfect, then you you work on that. And the way that works and Christianity is men need to die to themselves and love their wives, and then the wives can reciprocate respect.
So there be thankful that God is present in marriages and it’s never too late to save or to restore the love or the hope or the the just a blessing of it. Be thankful. If you have children, Yes, once we raise them up, they go their own way, but we can we can be thankful that we have children, that we were able to experience the love and the different stages of their development. If you didn’t have children, be thankful then you you church, go to family.
You might have people in your groups that have kids and grand kids and be involved in the community, and then you will be able to enjoy children as they grow up in a country that is still mostly free. Now, I don’t want to come across as being like this is hoky or anything. But the reality is I’ve been to thirteen countries. So I’ve been to Saudi Arabia, and I’ve been to Israel, and I’ve been to Jordan, I’ve been to Turkey, and blah blah blah.
We have an exceptional nation. Most parts of the country are safe. God is still worshiped by one hundred plus million people. We’re the most charitable nation, and our system can turn evil away and we can restore back life, liberty, pursue of happiness.
So those are real, tangible things in place, in paper, in the spirit, and in experience. So be thankful today that we were in a nation that is free, and that the infringements on our Bill of rights can be removed hindrances back to more of a simple way for those of you are Christians. Just like I said in my Christian Talk podcast, you can download Christian Talk with Eric Thompson. We were chosen in Jesus Christ, before the foundation of the world, to be wholly and blameless in a society predestined us as adoption to sonship through Jesus in accordance to the pleasure of His will.
We have redemption. Then through his blood, the forgiveness of sins and accordance with the riches of God’s grace, which he lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding, he made known to us the wisdom of his will according to his good pleasure. We were chosen in him, having been predestined according to the plan of Him who works out everything and conforming to the purpose of his will.
And for this reason, then we should always be in a thankful state of mind. Paul Over and Phlippians rejoice in the Lord always. I say again, rejoice. Let your gentleness be evidence all the Lord is neared.
You not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace that trans transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds. In Christ. Jesus rush Limbaugh, before he went home to the Lord, did a It’s called the True Story of Thanksgiving.
He can find it over at official rush Limbau dot com. November twenty fourth, twenty twenty. And there’s He’s. Got a whole article here, but I’m going to play part of the beginning of it and then I’d encourage you to go over there, and I’ll put it also on my page over at magabook dot com, also over on x at et talk show.
But here is the great Rush Limbaugh on the true story of Thanksgiving. Who did not recognize the Church’s absolute civil and spiritual authority, actually the state. Now, those who challenged the ecclesiastical authority and those who believe strongly in freedom of worship were hunted down. It’s in England in the sixteen hundreds.
They were hunted down. They were imprisoned, sometimes executed for what they believed. So a group of separatists, people that didn’t want any part of this, fled first to Holland, and they liked wooden shoes and cheese. They established a community.
They were there for eleven years. After eleven years, about forty of these separatists who liked wooden shoes and cheese agreed to make a perilous journey to. The New World. They had heard about it, some new exciting place hadn’t been developed.
They knew that they were going to face hardship, hardship like you and I don’t know, And I’m not preaching to you. I’m just telling we don’t know the hardship these people endured. We can’t. We are way too advanced now.
People who lived in the sixteen hundreds would not believe life today. Try to explain flight jet travel, they wouldn’t understand it. They knew they were facing hardship, but paramount importance to them was living freely and worshiping God according to the dictates of their own consciences, their own beliefs. That’s what they were denied the freedom to do.
In England. Saul August first, sixteen twenty the Mayflower set sail. There were total of one hundred and two passengers, including forty of these separatists, the Pilgrims. There were just forty of them.
They were led by a man named William Bradford, remember his name. On the journey across the Atlantic, you talk about something ahead to be frightening and scary. The Mayflower was not much bigger than a fifty foot boat. The one hundred and two people on it.
On the journey, William Bradford set up an agreement, the Contract if you will, that ablished just and equal laws for all members. All forty members of this pilgrim community, didn’t matter what their religious beliefs were. These were the laws they were all agreeing to live by. Now where did these laws, these ideas come from? We’re talking about the Mayflower Compact, is what Bradford wrote.
The Mayflower Compact derived from the Bible. The Pilgrims were a people completely steeped in the Bible, Old and New Testaments. They were a devoutly religious people. No matter what else is said about them, and even that is denied, they were devoutly religious.
They looked to the ancient Israelites for much of their example, and because of the biblical precedents set forth in scripture, they never doubted, because of their faith in God, that their experiment would work. They never doubted they would get the New World. They never doubted that once they got there, they would thrive. The journey was long, it was arduous, it was dangerous, and when they finally landed.
When the Pilgrims finally landed in New England in November, according to William Bradford’s detailed journal, they found a cold, barren, desolate wilderness. Imagine New England as it exists today, has nothing but rocks, forest, undeveloped nature. In November and getting colder, there were no friends, degree, there was no shelter of any kind other than what you know, hiding under retreat. There was nothing, folks.
It was desolate. There were no hotels, there were no inns, there were no places to clean up, there were no houses. I mean, this was real hardship. The sacrifice that they had made for the freedom to worship was just beginning during that first winter.
Remember they arrived in November. During that first winter, half of them, including William Bradford’s own wife, died of starvation, of sickness, exposure to the elements. Now we’re getting close to what you were taught in scrule. When spring finally came, and by the way, writing that doesn’t do it justice.
Spring didn’t just finally came. It was a survival. It was an act of survival that you and I cannot possibly relate to her. Understand, American special forces can military people who’ve been trained can understand what the pilgrims were that you and I can’t.
We’ve never done anything like that first winter in the New World. They survived it. Spring finally came. They did meet the Indians, the Native Americans who were there, who did help them in planting corn.
And fishing for cod. They showed them where the beavers were so the beavers could be skinned for coats other things. You edible rights people are not going to like some of the story. But it happened.
But even at this, even with this. Degree of assistance from the Indians and Native Americans, there wasn’t any prosperity. Yet. They had the Mayflower Compact, they had these laws they were living by, but there was no prosperity.
And I wonder why now this is important to understand here, folks, because this is where modern American history lessons end. With the Indians teaching the Pilgrims how to eat, how to fish, how to skin beavers and all that. That’s where it ends. And that’s the feel good story.
But that doesn’t even get close to the true story. You know, Thanksgiving is actually explained in some textbooks as a holiday for which the pilgrims gave thanks to the Indians for saving their lives. It wasn’t that that happened, but. Thanksgiving was a devout expression of gratitude.
The Pilgrims to God for their survival. All right, there you go. You can listen to the rest of that. I said, over at official Rushlimba dot com.
The true story of Thanksgiving, but Russia is gonna lay out how those who survive then started to try to set up this governmental system and they are going to have to first deal with this attempt of socialism that almost killed them off completely. So if you want to get the full story, but the true story of Thanksgiving is that the pilgrims, they made it. Over half of them died. Those who made it through the winner God provided they then were able to sustain themselves, to get food and to get the housing.
And then here we are through World War as we’ve been in through civil rights movements. So we. Need to be thankful. That we’re in a nation where we can still be free and for the rights that have been infringed on those can be those restrictions, those on constitutional edicts and presidential orders, executive orders can be rescinded, and then we can pursue life, liberty and pursue happiness in a way that our founders would have wanted.
Thank you guys so much for listening. Please share this with your friends and family. Guys, have a blessed Thanksgiving. If you’re listening today, if it’s after Thanksgiving.
Just continue the march because well we have. We should be thankful always, especially those of you of faith, because God has done everything. We just have to tell people about it. Live in Christ, walk and step with the Holy Spirit, and one day he’ll return to get us.
Until then, you guys, have a great day. Take care. Bye.
