Biden Sending 1,500 Active-Duty Troops To Facilitate Border Surge, Not Stop It

The COVID restrictions put in place by the Trump administration allowed U.S. officials to turn away migrants crossing the border.

But as the Trump-era restrictions prepare to be lifted on May 11, 2023, leftists run NGOs continue working with amnesty groups to educate and provide food, clothing, and money for those who be part of the expected border surge.

The Biden administration instead of preparing to stop the expected massive number of illegal aliens rushing the US border instead just approved the temporary deployment of 1,500 active-duty troops to the southern border. Their job will be to assist the U.S. Border Patrol in rounding up and processing foreign nationals who will most likely file false asylum requests.

“For 90 days, these 1,500 military personnel will fill critical capability gaps, such as ground-based detection and monitoring, data entry, and warehouse support, until CBP can address these needs through contracted support,” Pentagon Press Secretary Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder said.

The service members will be armed for self-defense but will not directly participate in law enforcement operations.

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin approved the deployment at the request of the Department of Homeland Security.

A few Republican lawmakers slammed the Biden administration on Twitter for its globalists and incompetent handling of the border.

“The way this administration has handled the border is a complete dereliction of duty to the safety and security of the American people,” Sen. Ted Budd (R-NC) tweeted.

Rep. Jim Banks (R-IN) tweeted, “Authorize the use of military force against the cartels NOW!”
