Bongino, Patel Expose 2020 Election Cover-Up

FBI Director Accused of Hiding China Plot to Influence 2020 Election

Former top U.S. officials are raising serious concerns about the integrity of the 2020 presidential election, claiming that senior FBI leaders deliberately withheld evidence of a Chinese operation aimed at securing a win for Joe Biden.

FBI Director Kash Patel and Deputy Director Dan Bongino, both allies of former President Trump, have made claims that former FBI leadership hid information regarding a potential plot surrounding the 2020 election.

Their explosive allegations have ignited fresh scrutiny over the actions—or inactions—of the federal government during one of the most contested elections in American history.

Patel, who previously served as chief of staff to the Acting Secretary of Defense, accused the FBI of sitting on actionable intelligence revealing a coordinated effort by the Chinese Communist Party to interfere in the election. “They knew the Chinese were working to influence the election for Biden,” Patel said during an appearance on Bongino’s podcast. “And they chose to suppress it. That’s election interference by omission.”

Dan Bongino, a former Secret Service agent and one of the most prominent voices in conservative media, echoed Patel’s concerns. “This wasn’t just a bureaucratic misstep,” Bongino asserted. “This was an orchestrated effort to cover up foreign interference that favored Biden—and the people responsible must be held accountable.”

According to a report from Just the News, both men cited multiple unnamed sources familiar with internal intelligence briefings, alleging that senior FBI and intelligence community officials buried evidence tying Chinese actors to influence campaigns targeting battleground states. The interference reportedly included disinformation campaigns, cyber intrusions, and financial incentives designed to benefit Democratic operations.

This narrative directly challenges the mainstream media’s and government’s narrative from 2020, which largely downplayed the role of China in influencing the election while amplifying claims about supposed Russian disinformation targeting then-candidate Biden. Critics at the time accused the intelligence community of operating with a double standard—aggressively pursuing anything labeled “Russian,” while ignoring or dismissing Chinese interference.

Patel noted that intelligence briefings prepared for the White House and congressional leadership in 2020 were “sanitized” before delivery. “We had reports. We had names. We had money trails. But every time it came time to present the facts to decision-makers, the China connection was omitted or minimized,” he said.

The accusations come as public trust in federal law enforcement remains low. A recent Gallup poll shows that only 37% of Americans have confidence in the FBI—a sharp drop from pre-2020 levels. Much of that distrust stems from perceptions that the agency has become politicized and weaponized against conservatives and allies of former President Donald Trump.

Many conservatives now argue that the alleged suppression of Chinese interference is part of a broader pattern of politicization. From the infamous Russia hoax to the suppression of the Hunter Biden laptop story, there’s a growing consensus on the right that federal institutions are being used not as instruments of justice, but as tools of ideological warfare.

“What we are witnessing is not incompetence—it’s collusion,” Bongino said. “The same people who spent four years claiming Trump colluded with Russia are the ones who now look the other way when credible evidence shows China worked to get Biden elected.”

The PJ Media report also notes that some documents previously classified under national security protocols may soon be made public. These could provide hard evidence to support Patel and Bongino’s claims. Patel emphasized the importance of transparency: “The American people deserve to know who sold out our election integrity. We’re not talking about foreign enemies alone—we’re talking about people in our own government who helped them.”

Conservatives have long warned about China’s growing influence—not just economically, but politically and culturally. From acquiring farmland and investing in U.S. tech firms to infiltrating academic institutions, the Chinese Communist Party has executed a long-term strategy to gain leverage within American society. That influence, critics argue, found a willing ally in the Democratic Party during the 2020 election.

“If China had openly invaded, people would be outraged,” said a Christian political commentator who asked to remain unnamed. “But because they used tech, money, and media manipulation, it’s somehow dismissed. That is spiritual blindness—and strategic failure.”

For Christian voters, this issue resonates on a deeper level. The Bible teaches in John 8:32, “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” Suppressing truth—especially about something as critical as a presidential election—undermines not just trust in government, but in justice itself.

Some Republican lawmakers are now calling for a full investigation into the FBI’s handling of intelligence related to Chinese election interference. There is also renewed interest in establishing a Church-style committee to audit and overhaul federal agencies accused of acting beyond their mandates.

“This isn’t about relitigating the past,” Patel said. “It’s about ensuring that the most powerful law enforcement agency in the country cannot be weaponized to tilt elections in favor of one party, especially with help from foreign adversaries.”

With the 2024 election cycle in full swing, these allegations could influence public discourse, shape voting behavior, and fuel ongoing calls for reform. If proven true, they represent not just a political scandal—but a betrayal of the American people by those entrusted to protect them.
